Safety FAQs

What are watermarks?
Watermarks are imprints placed on a check to prevent fraud. They are very difficult to counterfeit because they are built into the paper. Companies that send out rebates often use watermarks to prevent thieves from trying to counterfeit rebate checks en masse.

What kinds of organizations use security printing paper?
Any company that produces checks should consider using security printing paper. In addition, companies that create classified information should also utilize security printing paper. While shredders have been incorporated to keep internal documents safe, companies should be aware that some documents can be forged or altered and taken out of the office. The reader will know he is not reading an authentic document if it was not printed on security printing paper.

Is it easy for companies to cut checks using secure check paper?
Using secure check paper is easy for almost any size company. The only requirements are a computer, software, and secure check paper. Most companies who already have a computer and the software and check paper are relatively inexpensive.
